Between 2011 and 2026, Tehrani International Trading built two markets for Tonino Lamborghini on two continents. The Middle East and North Africa first, for a decade. North America after that, from 2022. Fifteen years, two regions, one brand. It is the longest single engagement in the company's history, and it is worth writing down what it taught us.
When we introduced Tonino Lamborghini to MENA in 2011, we did not launch a lifestyle brand. We launched an energy drink. That was the category the market was ready to accept from a name it did not yet know in that context.
Coffee and hot chocolate came later, once the name meant something on a shelf. Hospitality and real estate came later still, including Tonino Lamborghini Cafe. Each stage was underwritten by the credibility of the one before it. Brands that try to arrive fully formed usually arrive nowhere.
In 2022 we secured exclusive North American rights for the beverage collection. Signing took months. Building the market took the years that followed: retail listings, hospitality accounts, pricing that held across two countries, and advertising that returned 27.65 times what we spent on it.
A distribution agreement is a permission slip. It is not a market. We have watched brands treat the signature as the finish line and then wonder, a year later, why nothing moved.
Products come and go. The retailer who takes your call, the hotel group that trusts your recommendation, the customer who reorders without being asked: those relationships take years to build and they do not belong to any single product on the shelf.
That is the clearest lesson of fifteen years, and it is why we built Lusso Scelta as our own brand rather than relying only on carrying other people's. A company that owns its channel controls its own future. A company that rents one does not.
Tehrani International Trading holds exclusive tire and industrial distribution across the Middle East and North Africa, and operates Lusso Scelta in North America, which is developing its own range for wider distribution. A North American tire programme is in preparation, beginning with passenger car and light truck radials, with off-the-road to follow.
If you are weighing North America for a brand, the useful first conversation is a short one. Fifteen minutes is usually enough to understand the brand, the category, and whether this is a market worth entering at all. If it is not, we will say so.
